The Latest Star Wars Battlefront 2 News

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is almost here, with the release set for November 17, 2017. With the release upon us, more and more news is being released for the game. With that being said, I felt we should recap the latest we have heard about this much anticipated sequel to 2015’s Star Wars Battlefront.

Have a look at the trailer below:

As most of you probably already know, the game will be released on the 17th for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows 10 PC. So far, we have heard nothing about releases on other platforms. If it follows the path of its predecessor, don’t count on it reaching Mac or Nintendo consoles anytime soon, if at all.

EA has already laid out the roadmap for future DLC content for Star Wars Battlefront 2. This content will be free, unlock past DLC’s for the previous title. The big date you need to remember is December 13. This is the date set for the Last Jedi DLC. With its release, we will see two new heroes added to the game – Finn and Captain Phasma, along with new maps for both the ground and space games. The heroes will be unlockable using in-game credits, much like the other heroes that will be available. The Last Jedi film is set for a December 15th release date so it looks as though the game is set to release right along with the film.

Speaking of the new heroes, you will have to purchase them with the credits you can earn in game. However, it seems that this could take a bit of play time to accomplish. New players that have early access have already determined it could take days of playtime in order to collect enough credits to buy the heroes. For example, Luke and Darth Vader are the most expensive heroes, costing 60,000 credits each. However, credits are earned not by in-game achievements but simply by the amount of time you play. So far, it seems you can earn about 25 credits per minute. That’s quite a few minutes of playtime to get the heroes you want.

If you want to bypass this time, you can always use some of the many microtransactions included in the game, which I’m sure many players will choose once they realize how long it will take to collect enough credits to purchase their favorite heroes or complete their collections.

Finally, if you haven’t heard, this won’t just be a multiplayer game like the first game in the series. The new Battlefront will include a single player campaign as well, starring an Imperial trooper named Iden Versio that witnesses the second Death Star exploding. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is one of the most anticipated Star Wars games to be released in recent memory. There are high hopes for this game and I hope EA meets expectations.
