First person shooters have been a staple of gaming ever since Wolfenstein 3D and Doom were released. Since then, the gameplay has evolved to become even more lifelike with amazing improvements in graphics and controls. Some of these FPS games have been better than others and we can all admit that some of them were downright horrible.
However, many have been good with some being completely fantastic and worth a play from anyone who is a fan of FPS games. Today, we have the best FPS games of 2015 that you can play on your PC and, in most cases, consoles as well. These games are still relevant today and are perfect for gamers looking who have older laptops and PC’s that won’t be able to run the latest and most demanding FPS games.

Dying Light is a first person survival horror action game where the player must scavenge for supplies during the day in order to survive the onslaught of zombies once night falls. Evolve is a sci-fi based first person shooter that takes on a distant planet. For the single player portion of the game, players must save colonists on the planet from the onslaught of many different alien monsters. But the multiplayer portion of the game is one of the most unique we have seen. Players take the role of one of 4 different classes and then another player takes on the role of an alien. This 4 on 1 gameplay provides a very unique gameplay experience and I must admit I just love becoming a giant ferocious alien.

Set many years in the future, Titanfall provides the ultimate multiplayer experience. In fact, it only features multiplayer as there is no single player campaign available in the game. Titanfall offers some of the best balance between player types and weapons and its unique gameplay that keeps you online with your friends and your enemies offers an experience that is fun, challenging and full of the adrenaline rush you need for a truly superb gaming experience.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the eleventh game in the series and takes the series forward into the future. Of course, like any Call of Duty game, the real fun is to be had in the multiplayer games. Being a competitive game and at times can be really challenging, it is no surprise that you might resort to hacks to enhance your gaming skills. BioShock Infinite is a sci-fi first person shooter set in a steampunk setting in the 1900s. Some even call it one of the best games ever due to its gameplay and mature storytelling. If multiplayer is more to your taste, Infinite doesn’t disappoint and you will find hours upon hours of entertainment as you navigate a 1900s steampunk world.
12. Metro 2033 Redux

Metro 2033 Redux is an apocalyptic first person shooter and survival horror game set in the subways of Moscow after a nuclear war that has left the world above uninhabitable. The game is not designed for multiplayer lovers, unfortunately, as it includes no multiplayer game mode with the game. It does, however, offer a compelling story and great single player game mechanics to make this the perfect game for any FPS fan out there.
13. Crysis 3

Set in New York City in the year 2047, 24 years after the events of the last Crysis game, players must navigate a version of New York that has been covered in rainforest thanks to a corrupt corporation With eight multi-objective missions and a full set of multiplayer games designed for up to 12 players, Crysis 3 provides one heck of a ride and is still a strong contender for one of the best even though it is beginning to age.
14. Halo 5: Guardians

While Halo 5 isn’t currently slated to make it to PC and will only be available for the Xbox One, you can’t make a Best FPS list without at least mentioning this title. Halo once revived the FPS genre and helped Microsoft build a gaming empire and all past sequels haven’t failed to deliver. While not much is known about Halo 5, it is sure to be another fun ride true to the series as players again assume the role of Master Chief with multiplayer features such as jetpacks for everyone that is sure to help Halo 5 become the best game of the series to date.
15. Star Wars Battlefront

To be fair, the last game on our list is one that we just don’t know too much about as of yet. Yes the game is slated to be released this year, but outside of a trailer we really don’t know too much. Like past Battlefront games, you can expect to play in both first and third person and you will be able to take control of some of the most iconic units ever to grace the Star Wars Universe in epic multiplayer combat. One thing we do know, with Star Wars Battlefront you will be able to immerse yourself in some of the most epic Star Wars battles as you fight for either the Rebellion, or the Empire.

One thing is for sure, all of these first person shooters offer something unique to the genre and are all around fun. Most offer both a single player and multiplayer experience so no matter how you like to play, chances are these games will work for you though some may require a more high-end system to run smoothly. As time goes on, we can only expect the genre to get better and even more realistic offer players a truly real gameplay experience that has never been seen before. For now, however, all of these games will provide you with an amazing experience as you duck dodge and reign fire down on your enemies to emerge the victor.
