Samsung Refreshes Its Notebook 9 Line of Laptops

Samsung was set to make an official announcement next month at CES, but it seems they let the holidays get the best of them as they are already showing off new updates to their Notebook 9 line of Windows PCs.

While navigating the various options from Samsung can be tough, this year’s new releases doesn’t really muddy the waters, as they are just updates to their existing offerings. As a part of the refresh, there are new 13-inch and 15-inch models, and an update to the 13-inch Notebook Pen two-in-one.

According to Samsung, all of these new models utilize Intel’s eighth-generation Core i7 processors and include integrated graphics, but one will ship with a GeForce MX150 graphics chip built for laptops. This chip isn’t the most powerful out there, but should allow you to run games on medium detail settings and at 720p resolution.

Here is a breakdown of the hardware specs on the new model:

All of these laptops can support up to 16GB of RAM, PCI Express-based NVMe SSDs, HDMI output, and fingerprint scanners, and are made with a premium magnesium alloy called Metal12. This allow is supposed to be even lighter than aluminum while still strong enough to withstand the wear and tear of laptop life.

These new systems will first ship in Korea this month, but won’t be available in North America until sometime in the first quarter of 2018. To catch a full glimpse of them, you will need to check them out at CES in January.

What do you think about these new laptops from Samsung? Are they enough to convince you to upgrade or switch to Samsung for your laptop?
