The Toshiba Satellite C55-B5200 sports the same jet black design as other C55 series laptops in this category. While it’s not metal, the plastic material is strong enough to last years without much wear and tear.
With 6GB of RAM, a 750GB hard drive and features like a DVD-burner, HDMI and USB 3.0, the internal hardware is similar to the C55-A5182 which costs $50 more. The only difference is that the C55-B5200 is powered by the more recent Intel Core i3-4005U processor which has lower clock speed but is more power efficient than the Intel Core i3-4000M processor on the C55-A5182.
The integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics is also much weaker than the Intel HD 4600 which is more capable of playing recent games. Thus, for resource intensive applications and games the C55-A5182 is more suitable.
If you’re a basic user, the C55-B5200 costs $50 less, offers a much longer battery life and is equipped with well balanced specs for basic multitasking, home computing and everyday office tasks.
