The Lenovo Ideapad Y700 is a bestselling 15.6-Inch laptop that has received positive reviews for its sleek gaming appearance, its powerful hardware including the new 6th generation Intel processor, and its Full-HD IPS Display. However, some reviewers felt that although lightweight and sleek, the design is still rather bulky compared to non-gaming laptops, but this is a minor complaint as it is a gaming machine. Overall, if you are looking for a sturdy gaming machine featuring the latest technology, the Lenovo Ideapad Y700 delivers a top notch gaming experience at a lower price than some of its competitors.
Lenovo are known for their almost bulletproof business laptops, but Lenovo also have a range of powerful gaming laptops. Sports aggressive gaming looks and a design that closely resembles a stealth fighter, the Ideapad Y700 is as much a gaming pedigree laptop as the gaming laptops that we know and love. Equipped with a powerful Skylake Intel i7-6700HQ processer and 8GB of RAM, the Y700 will cope with demanding apps with ease.
But we do recommend upgrading to 16GB or more for the rendering of media. No gaming laptop would be complete without a dedicated graphics card. The Y700 sports an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M, which will be able to run most modern gaming titles on medium to high graphics while still offering decent frame rates. The 256GB solid state drive offers lightning fast game loading speeds, but the 256GB of storage space is a limiting factor due to the size of modern games. The Full-HD IPS display offers vibrant colors, wide viewing angles and the anti-glare technology reduces the glare to almost zero.
While it does not feature a QHD+ or UHD display, the Y700’s display does offer a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. The cooling system is not as effective as other gaming machines and does leave the keyboard hot while gaming. Overall the Ideapad Y700 is a great gaming laptop for users who are after a powerful gaming laptop at a more affordable price.

Bottom Line
The Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15.6-Inch features fast performance backed by great hardware along with superb sound wrapped in a solid build. However, it is bulky with an SSD that is pretty small when you consider the size of apps and games today.
