The Huawei MateBook X Signature Edition laptop has received positive reviews for its eye-catching 2160×1440 display that offers plenty of screen real estate thanks to the narrow bezel surrounding it. The audio quality is said to be class-leading, which is due to Huawei working with Dolby. It comes with a speedy 512GB solid state drive, a fast Intel i7-7500U and 8GB of RAM, all of which is packed into a 12.5mm thick, lightweight body. Users loved the fact that it runs quietly due to its no fan design. However, for this same reason, users noted that it can get hot when it is getting pushed, which does inhibit productivity somewhat. Furthermore, the touchpad is said to be the weakest aspect of the MateBook X. Some users also found that the battery life isn’t great for an ultrabook, with some reporting 5-6 hours of use on a single charge. There are also only two ports, both of which are USB 3.1 type-c, which is quite inhibiting for the power users.
Pros
- Attractive price
- Even more attractive design
- Extreme portability
- Runs quiet
- Impressive specs
Cons
- Fanless design means overheating issues
- Touchpad needs improving
- May hinder productivity
- Port selection
Bottom Line
The Huawei MateBook X Signature Edition will draw a lot of attention due to its attractive and sleek profile, but sacrificing cooling for looks may be a regrettable decision by Huawei, however.

Huawei isn’t the first name that springs to mind when you’re on the market for a new laptop, but hasn’t stopped it from creating one of 2017’s prettiest portable computers, the MateBook X. Huawei’s first laptop is an impressive machine, and rivals the Asus ZenBook 3 for thin-and-light credentials.

The Huawei Matebook X is a super-slim laptop with a slick design at a reasonable price, though it lacks the pizazz and features of competing ultraportables.
