Welcome to our current guide to the best touchscreen laptops on the market based on critic reviews, consumer feedback and hardware power.
From its humble beginnings in 1972, the touchscreen has seen many applications such as point of sales, PDAs, Mobile phones, tablets, gaming consoles and is now very common with newer laptops. While Windows 8 may have been underwhelming and somewhat of a pain it did have one redeeming quality, touch controls. The UI was designed with multitouch gestures in mind and thanks to that many laptop manufacturers began incorporating capacitive touch capabilities into their products.
It also helped to push the then budding convertible 2-in-1 laptops to become as popular as they are today. While not many games make use of the touchscreen its application has made the lives of many users easier and in a way made computing more interactive. If you are looking for a touchscreen laptop to be your new computing companion you have come to the right place. We have assembled a comprehensive guide to the best touchscreen laptops and touch screen laptop deals currently available on the market. If touchscreen laptops aren’t your cup of tea feel free to check out our other guides ranging from budget laptops under $500 all the way up to the best high-end gaming laptops and everything in between. We have even put together a fantastic roundup of all the best laptops of the year.
Best Premium Touchscreen Laptops – Top pick
Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5-inch
Microsoft's Surface Book 2 13.5-inch laptop comes in a beautiful magnesium case that is fitted with powerful premium components, but for this price, the omission of Thunderbolt 3 support and no included Surface Pen is rather disappointing.
Microsoft’s latest laptop, the Surface Book 2, is a 2-in-1 premium laptop that has wowed many users with its elegant looks and immense performance capabilities thanks to its premium components. This lightweight, 3.62-pound machine comes in a beautifully crafted magnesium body and it is fitted with a 13.5-inch PixelSense display that has a resolution of 3,000 x 2,000 (267 ppi). Disappointingly, Microsoft have not included a Thunderbolt 3 port, which we do see in many newer laptops, such as the Dell XPS 15. It does, however, come with a USB-C port. The Intel i7 8650U is one the most powerful processors around that can Turbo Boost up to 4.2 GHz, and the 16GB of RAM is more than enough to have a heap of applications and web pages open. The fact that it is fanless has also not affected performance according to reviewers, as it still delivers amazing performance while staying pretty quiet. Its ability to transform into different modes is what makes it such a versatile laptop. The screen detaches easily from the fulcrum hinges with the touch of a button and becomes a tablet, and it can be reattached backwards to change it into studio and view mode. The included NVIDIA GTX 1050 GPU is the discrete version, and it allows for some decent entry level gaming, but the GPU fan is said to get quite loud when gaming or video editing. This model comes with a decent sized 512GB SSD and both the front and rear camera quality is said to be great. Their are also a few of other accessories that one can use with the Surface Book 2, including the Surface Precision Mouse and the Surface Dial. If you are looking for a versatile 2-in-1 in laptop that is both elegant and incredibly efficient, then the Surface Book 2 will suit your needs.

Best Touchscreen Laptops under $400 – Top Pick
ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TP401NA-YS02 13-inch
The ASUS VivoBook 14 TP401NA-YS02, priced slightly higher than $400, is worth the few extra bucks as it offers both convenience and reliability. With an all day battery life and incredibly convenient lightweight design, you will be able to take it anywhere without the hassle of power adaptors. It shares the same weight as the Acer Chromebook R 13 CB5-312T-K5X4 13.3-inch, both which weigh in at 3.3 pounds. The Samsung Chromebook Plus XE513C24-K01US 12.3-inch is, however, the lightest laptop we have in this guide. The VivoBook 14 TP401NA-YS02 is one of the few laptops to boast a Full-HD display, and on top of this it is colorful NanoEdge display with a thin bezel around it. 2-in-1 laptops offer more versatility than the traditional laptops as they easily flip 360 degrees into tablet mode. The aluminium chassis is strong overall and gives the laptop a sleek, premium look, and it has a wide range of connectivity options, including USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen1), Micro HDMI, Micro USB 2.0, and an SD Card Reader. Under the hood we’ll find an entry-level Intel Quad-Core Celeron N3450 Processor and 4GB of RAM to drive a decent overall performance. Things such as word processing, video streaming and web browsing shouldn’t be an issue, but more demanding tasks will struggle. The 64GB eMMC Storage will fill up quickly, but it is fast, meaning you will load into windows quickly and the overall system will feel smoother than those that come with older, larger hard drives.
Pros
- NanoEdge FHD display
- Stylus pen included
- Respectable performance
- Battery life
- Battery life Portability
Cons
- Very limited storage
- Keyboard not backlit
- Not a strong multitasker

- 7.25 hours battery life

Summary & Score
The NanoEdge display, battery life, lightweight and portability are all incredibly appealing aspects, but a little more storage space would have made the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TP401NA-YS02 a winner at this price point.

Best Cheap Touchscreen Laptops Under $350- Top pick
HP 15-BS020WM
For simple day-to-day task handling and leisure use, the HP 15-BS020WM laptop will settle all your laptop needs if you are on a lower budget. It comes with a large, 1366 x 768 15.6-inch display that’s the perfect size for multimedia purposes, and the fact that it is a touchscreen is an added bonus. When compared to the Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM 15.6-inch, it does come off second best, however, with the Acer boasting a Full-HD display, remaining our top pick. Users thought that the chiclet-style keyboard is comfortable (it is sadly not backlit) and nice to use, and that the touchpad is responsive. The plastic construction seemed to be durable to most users and it weighs in at 5.3 pounds, which means it is light enough to carry to classes or the office. The battery life is less than ideal for all day use, with PC Verge finding that it lasts around 4 hours and 39 minutes on their rundown tests. The HP 15-BS020WM has the Intel Pentium N3710 Processor and 4GB of RAM, both of which will allow you to carry out word processing, video watching and web browsing quite easily, although do expect some slow downs when you have multiple tabs running in your browser. It comes with fairly standard connectivity, including one USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, one HDMI port, an SD slot and an optical slot, and the slower 5400RPM 500GB HDD will ensure that you don’t run out of storage space.
Pros
- Price
- Basic task handling
- Good keyboard and trackpad
- Construction
- Touchscreen
Cons
- Bloatware
- Only 720p resolution
- Limited multitasking
Specs
- Intel Pentium N3710 1.6GHz [View Benchmarks]
- Intel HD Graphics 620 Shared [View Framerates]
- 4GB DDR3 RAM
- 500GB HDD
- 15.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixels
- Windows 10 Home
- 6 hours battery life

Summary & Score
HP’s 15-BS020WM is great for multimedia consumption thanks to its large touchscreen display, but expect a humble performance that is only suited to basic computing and task handling.
Best Gaming Touchscreen Laptops – Top pick
Razer Blade RZ09-01953E72-R3U1 14-inch
The Razer Blade has been CNC milled out of high-grade aluminum to offer you a thin and light laptop that has been filled with some great gaming hardware. Razer have done away with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M from their last generation Razer Blade and have gone for the newer and more powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 laptop edition GPU. The newer GTX 1060 is based off of NVIDIA’s Pascal architecture and with 6GB of GDDR5, it offers far better graphics performance than the older GTX 970M. While VR gaming is still in a development phase for most of us, the GTX 1060 has been designed to perform far better than the GTX 900-series cards, giving it an advantage for future gaming experiences. However, if you really want to push the performance, then you can connect the Razer Core external GPU enclosure via the superfast USB 3.1 Type-C port. However the Razer Core and a faster desktop grade GPU will push up the price dramatically. Being a premium gaming laptop, it features the latest 7th generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, which will make light work of most games or intensive apps. The newer i7-7700HQ boasts a performance increase of 9% over its predecessor, giving it the edge when it comes to more demanding applications. Backing up the Core i7-6700HQ processor is 16GB of DDR4 2133MHz RAM, which combined will allow for lag free gaming or intensive multitasking. While all this hardware is quite powerful, the thin design means that it can heat up quickly, causing the fans to run most of the time. This might put off some users who are looking for a quieter machine for everyday use. While there is a 1TB version of the Razer Blade, the Razer Blade RZ09-01953E72-R3U1 features a decently sized 512GB SSD, which helps bring down the cost by a few hundred dollars. This will give you enough space to install some of your favorite AAA gaming titles, however some recent titles require over 50GB and will fill up your SSD quite quickly. Like the previous range, you get Razer Chroma which is Razer’s individually lit backlit keyboard. This will allow you to set three different color zones so that you can truly customize your Razer Blade. The brilliant 14-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel multi-touch display offers rich colors, wide viewing angles and is great for gaming or for media editing on the go. However, the display is a bit small for hardcore gamers, we recommend connecting the Razer Blade RZ09-01953E72-R3U1 to a decent size monitor for the best gaming experience.
Pros
- Kaby Lake i7 processor
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
- Thin and light
- USB Type-C
- 512GB M.2 SSD
Cons
- Heats up under load
- Expensive
- No Ethernet
- No optical drive

Best Touchscreen Laptops Under $1000 –Runners-Up
Microsoft Surface Pro FJX-00001
The 2017 Surface Pro, which is technically a tablet with the performance of a laptop, is the improved next generation of the Surface Pro 4, and it has upped its quality and overall performance, making it an excellent premium touchscreen convertible. This particular model of the 2017 Surface Pro that we are looking at is the Intel i5 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. Needless to say, it performs exceptionally well thanks to the seventh generation Intel i5 processor. Multitasking and web browsing are a breeze with the 8GB of RAM and the build quality is great, and many found that its touchscreen is responsive overall. The elegant finish gives it a very stylish quality much like its predecessor, but it does have fewer ports, like a USB Type-C port. It comes equipped with a single USB 3.0 Type-A connection, along with a mini-display port. Many pointed out that the kickstand is improved, and just under the kickstand is the microSD card. The speakers are front facing on each side of the display, with many noting how loud they are overall and how decent the sound quality is. The Surface Pen is said to be a lot more sensitive compared to the the Surface Pro 4, but it is not included, and it is pricier. The 2-in-1 laptop should also ideally be used with the keyboard, but even that is expensive. The Surface Pro ends up being pricier than the Surface Pro 4 when you factor in all these additional costs of essentials. The battery life has been improved by about 3 hours, amounting to around 13 hours compared to the Surface Pro 4, which only had around 10 hours of battery life. The 256GB SSD is fast, and it has Intel HD Graphics 620. Microsoft’s Surface Dial is also compatible with the Surface Pro, but it will cost you around $90 extra. The 2017 workhorse Surface Pro is stylish and a truly high performing 2-in-1 touchscreen laptop, and it is an excellent follow up to the Surface Pro 4.
Pros
- Elegant and stylish
- Great performance
- Improved battery life
- Surface Pen more responsive
- Fast 256GB SSD
- Great display
- Improved kickstand
Cons
- Surface Pen and keyboard are expensive
- Minimal port selection

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 CR5-00001 12.3-inch
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has seen massive improvements from the original Surface Pro that was launched a few years ago. The ultra thin aluminum design weighs in at an impressive 1.73 pounds without the keyboard, making it perfect for users after a powerful and compact 2-in-1 laptop. But Microsoft still does not offer the Surface Pro with a keyboard as a default accessory and you will have to purchase it separately. While there are cheaper third party options, we recommend two of the Genuine Microsoft keyboards, the Surface Pro 4 Type Cover or the Surface Pro 4 Type Cover with Fingerprint ID. While the keyboard is not included, you do get a stylus to navigate around Windows 10 and for basic drawing and design tasks. The onscreen keyboard can be used and is quite responsive, but it does take up valuable space on your display, which might annoy some users. The Surface Pro is powered by an Intel Skylake Core i5-6300U processor and 4GB of RAM, which allows for snappy performance when it comes to basic tasks. While the i5 processor will handle more intensive multitasking, the 4GB of RAM does limit its overall performance and cannot be upgraded at all. The battery life offers between 7-9 hours off of a single charge and this will allow you to use it comfortably throughout a normal workday or while on a long haul flight. The 128GB solid state drive allows the Surface Pro 4 CR5-00001 to boot in seconds and offers fast performance. You can extend the 128GB of storage space with a microSD card, giving you up to an additional 256GB of storage. The display offers crisp colors and great viewing angles. The responsiveness of the 10-finger multi-touch screen is among the best on the market and will not leave you disappointed.
Pros
- Intel Skylake processor
- Good battery life
- Crisp and responsive touchscreen
- Comes with Windows 10 Pro
Cons
- Only 4GB of RAM
- No physical keyboard included
- Only one USB 3.0 port
- Underpowered for designers
Specs
- Intel Core i5-6300U 2.4GHz [View Benchmarks]
- Intel HD Graphics 520 Shared [View Framerates]

- 1.73 lbs
Summary & Score
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 CR5-00001 offers a great performance for its compact size, but you will have to purchase the keyboard separately and the 4GB of RAM hurt its overall performance with heavy multitasking.

Dell Inspiron i5559-4682SLV Signature Edition 15.6-Inch
Dell are known for their budget friendly offerings and rugged business machines. However, these laptops are usually full of unwanted third party apps and features that will slow down your machine. This is where Microsoft has stepped in and promises no third-party bloatware with their Signature Edition laptops. This means that the Dell Inspiron i5559-4682SLV Signature Edition will only ship with a few Microsoft apps that you can easily remove from your laptop if you want a completely barebones Windows laptop. The Dell Inspiron i5559-4682SLV is an updated version of the Inspiron I5558-2144SLV and has now been beefed up with a newer sixth generation Intel Core i5-6200U processor for increased performance. While the newer processor will support DDR4 RAM, Dell has decided to use the same DDR3L RAM as its predecessor. However this is not a mark against the Dell Inspiron i5559-4682SLV as the installed 8GB of RAM will still feel snappy while surfing the web or working in more hardware intensive apps. A new processor also means a new Intel HD Graphics chip, which will mean slightly better performance for the casual gamer who enjoys titles such as Diablo 3, Warframe or CS: Go. The Dell Inspiron i5559-4682SLV also sees and improvement in the display department, as it now features a Full-HD display so that you can enjoy your favorite 1080p media. In addition to the sharp display, the Dell Inspiron i5559-4682SLV also features a touchscreen panel with 10-finger multi-touch support that will allow you to easily navigate around Windows. Another new feature is the addition of an Intel RealSense 3D camera. This allows the Dell Inspiron i5559-4682SLV to utilize Windows Hello functionality for quick and easy log-ins and enhanced security. You also get a backlit keyboard to allow you to work more comfortably in low light condition. One of the only drawbacks is that like all budget laptops it has a slower 5400rpm hard drive. While it offers ample storage space, it will mean waiting longer for Windows to load and apps to launch.
Pros
- Skylake-based i5 processor
- Full-HD display
- Intel RealSense 3D camera
- Backlit keyboard
- Clean version of Windows 10
Cons
- Slower hard drive
- No IPS display
- Only one USB 3.0 port

- 5.36 lbs
Summary & Score
The Dell Inspiron i5559-4682SLV Signature Edition is another great budget friendly solution from Dell and despite the use of a slower 5400rpm hard drive, this laptop still offers great performance.

Acer Aspire R 15 R5-571TG-7229 15.6-inch
The Acer Aspire R 15 R5-571TG-7229 has a durable beautiful silver gunmetal aluminium and plastic chassis. It has a 15.6-inch Full-HD 1920×1080 LED-backlit IPS display that has been praised by users, and its responsiveness for a touchscreen is said to be excellent. Under the hood it has a seventh generation Intel i7-7500U Processor that is backed by a whopping 12GB of DDR4 RAM, which handles heavy tasks with ease, making this machine well suited to productivity users and businessmen. The 256GB of storage is a decent amount for the price, and the SSD means your boot times and application loading times will be fast. The older Nvidia GeForce 940MX is a fairly mediocre card, so don’t expect much out of this machine in terms of running high requirement games. It has four modes – notebook, display, tent and tablet, making this 2-in-1 laptop versatile on top of its great performance. Interestingly, Acer have decided to leave out an Ethernet port, meaning you will only be able to use WiFi. It features an LED backlit Chiclet style keyboard and the overall typing experience is said to be enjoyable. The trackpad, while many enjoyed by many, was found to be not as sensitive as expected by some more critical users. The Acer Aspire R 15 R5-571TG-7229 has a premium look and feel, and delivers a great overall performance for those looking for a laptop geared towards productivity.

Best Touchscreen Laptops under $500 – Runners-Up
HP 15-bs095ms 15.6-inch
The HP 15-bs095ms is a top selling laptop on Amazon that comes at an awesome price, especially for its ability to handle some fairly demanding tasks really well. Priced at just above $500, you get an attractive laptop with a large, 15.6-inch display that supports 10 finger multi-touch gestures. The touchscreen performance has received a solid thumbs-up from reviewers, although we would have liked to see a Full-HD IPS display, as opposed to a budget-class TN display with a low resolution of 1366 x 768. If it is any consolation, customers did think that the display is still crisp and reliable for viewing for the most part, but be aware that you will have reduced viewing angles and the color representation may be lacking when compared to the pricier IPS display. It features a chiclet keyboard that has no backlighting which was noted as being comfortable to use. It’s internal hardware includes a dual-core Intel i5-7200U that puts up a strong performance, and when coupled with the 8GB of RAM (which is a generous amount, considering it is the same amount as the higher-end Microsoft Surface Pro FJX-00001), you get a machine that can handle some fairly heavy weight tasks, with users finding it runs Premiere Pro and other Adobe photo and video editing software fairly well. A quad-core i5 would obviously be a better buy, but it would push the price of the laptop up. Its integrated GPU, the Intel HD 620, will allow you to to do some casual gaming too, and with decent CPU and RAM you will be able to run Overwatch, Dota 2 and CS:GO reasonably well, but you may need to the lower the settings. For connectivity, you get two USB 3.1 ports, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI video out and a media card reader. The battery life is listed as 8 hours, but it’s safe to assume you will get a little less than that based on your usage. The 2TB of storage space is massive, and you will be able to keep a lot of multimedia on your machine, but it is a 5400RPM hard drive that is slow when compared to today’s solid state drives that are far superior in terms of speed.
Pros
- Copious amounts of storage space
- Reliable touchscreen
- Strong performance
- Large display
- Good speakers
Cons
- Slow hard drive
- Budget display

Samsung Chromebook Plus XE513C24-K01US 12.3-inch
If you are looking for a thin and light laptop for your studies, then the Samsung Chromebook Plus XE513C24-K01US is well worth considering. It features a sleek design, weighs in at 2.38-pounds and at just 0.51-inches thick, it is among the thinnest of the Chromebooks on the market. While other ChromeBooks are generally inexpensive, the Samsung Chromebook Plus XE513C24-K01US commands a higher price due to the fact that its features are more in line with that of mid-range Windows laptops. The Samsung Chromebook Plus XE513C24-K01US sports a Rockchip Hexa-Core OP1 processor with 4GB of DDR3L RAM, which give it the edge over some of its slightly cheaper counterparts. While you might not get an Intel processor, the Rockchip OP1 has been optimized in conjunction with Google for Chrome OS. You also get double the storage space of most Chromebooks, however the 32GB will fill up quickly if you intend on storing larger documents or multimedia files. You can purchase a large MicroSD card to extend the laptop’s storage space and we recommend a good 128GB MicroSD card. If you are permanently connected to the Internet, then you can make use of Google Drive as they offer great packages for under $10 a month. With a good battery life, the Samsung ChromeBook Plus will easily make it through all of your classes at college. The high resolution QHD display can be folded 360-degrees and with the included pen you will be able to take notes with ease. While it does run the more limited Chrome OS, you will still be able to use Microsoft Office thanks to Microsoft Office Online. The only major downside is that it only features two USB 3.1 Type-C ports that require adapters in order to use a standard USB port. Luckily Samsung have included an adapter in the box, which is more than what you get with Apple’s MacBook.
Pros
- Thin and light
- 8-Core processor
- Pen for drawing and taking notes
- Good battery life
Cons
- Only 2 USB 3.1 Type-C ports
- Limited apps
- Chrome OS
- Limited storage space

Lenovo Flex 4 80SA0000US 14-inch
The Lenovo Flex 4 80SA0000US is a budget 2-in-1 touchscreen laptop that packs a decent performance for the everyday person. Its basic Intel Pentium dual-core 4405U processor delivers a reliable performance for basic tasks, with many users seemingly having a pleasant experience with carrying out basic tasks such as word processing, watching videos or web browsing. Hardware intensive apps and heavy multitasking forces the slim DDR4 4GB of RAM to quickly reach its limits, however, and its 500GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive is also rather slow, meaning longer boot and app loading times. The laptop is lightweight, weighing in at 4.5lbs and users enjoy its versatility thanks to the 2-in-1 360-degree flip-and-fold design, offering you the convenience of both a laptop and tablet. The keyboard received mixed reviews. Some users liked the feedback of the keys, but it seems almost everyone disliked the placement of right, half-sized shift key. The Flex 4’s screen resolution of 1366 x 768 is rather disappointing since most new laptops have a Full-HD 1080p screen. On top of this, it is a TN display panel, impacting the color of the display, making it looked washed out at times. It comes with two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port and one HDMI port. The Lenovo Flex 4 80SA0000US is well suited to college students or for schools kids, and the 8.5 hour battery is plenty for all day use.
Pros
- Good quality keyboard
- Lightweight
- Good at basic task handling
- Build quality
- Versatile
- Touchscreen
Cons
- Lags with resource heavy tasks
- 5400rpm HDD
- 4GB of RAM is limiting

Dell Inspiron i3168-3272GRY 11.6-inch
Over the years Dell has learned a thing or two about making great affordable laptops and the Dell Inspiron i3168-3272GRY is no exception to the rule. Not only do you get a great laptop, the Dell Inspiron i3168-3272GRY can also be easily transformed into a Windows tablet for easy web browsing or streaming. Its Pentium N3710 processor won’t win any performance awards, however it will easily cope with basic tasks such as Skype, web browsing or sending emails. Its 4GB of RAM will run most applications, however the memory cannot be upgraded. This means that RAM hungry applications such as Google Chrome will cause the system too feel sluggish once you reach a certain amount of open tabs. Its Intel HD Graphics 405 GPU won’t allow you to play GTA V or Fallout 4, however it will allow you to play some classic titles and even World of Warcraft on the lowest settings. The Dell Inspiron i3168-3272GRY is by no means a gaming laptop, however it will allow you to enjoy your favourite 720p media content thanks to its 1366 x 768 pixel display. You will also be able to copy over some of your favourite media onto the 500GB storage drive to allow you access when you are on the go. While you get both WiFi and Bluetooth, the Dell Inspiron i3168-3272GRY doesn’t feature the faster AC WiFi that some of its competitors feature.

With its Intel Celeron N3150 Quad-Core Processor and 4GB of RAM, the laptop runs reasonably well and will easily get you through basic tasks and web browsing, and multitasking shouldn’t make it feel sluggish when compared to the 2GB version of this same laptop. While the IPS touch display is said to be sharp and decent overall, it only has a resolution of 1366×768 (720p), but this is fairly common amongst cheaper laptops, with a FHD resolution screen usually adding a couple of 100 dollars to the price tag. ASUS Chromebook Flip C100PA-DB02 10.1-inch
Bridging the gap between tablet and Chromebook, the Asus Chromebook Flip C100PA-DB02 is a compact laptop that offers great performance for its low price. The Flip’s aluminum construction gives it a high quality look and feel and is a far cry from many of its competitors who only offer plastic constructions that feel cheap. But the brushed aluminum is not the only thing that sets it apart from its competitors, the Flip C100PA is also very thin and measures in at a mere 0.61-inches. While many Chromebooks use more costly Intel Celeron and Atom processors, the Asus Flip C100PA features a popular tablet and Smartphone processor from Rockchip. Users can expect performance that is on par with the NVIDIA Tegra K1 and the Rockchip RK3288 Quad Core processor offers good speeds while loading apps and web pages. The processor is backed by 4GB of RAM which is double that of most of its competitors, but storage space is average with 16GB of eMMC flash memory. But Google offers 100GB of Google Drive cloud storage for 2 years and a microSD slot allows users to expand their storage space for multimedia and work documents. Two full sized USB ports allow for users to connect devise and also allows for the expansion of the storage space via external storage devices. While other Chromebooks feature an average display size of over 11-inches, the Flip C100PA comes in slightly smaller at just 10.1-inches and has a lower resolution than most entry level Chromebooks. But with in-panel switching and a fairly responsive touchscreen, the display is still better than some of its competitors.
Pros
- 2-in-1 design
- IPS display
- Aluminum construction
- Outstanding battery life
- 4GB of RAM
Cons
- Lower resolution
- No USB 3.0
- Micro-HDMI
- Only 16GB of storage

Best Gaming Touchscreen Laptops – Runners-Up
Razer Blade Pro V2 RZ09-01663E53-R3U1 17.3-inch
Razer re-released the Razer Pro and while it had a huge price tag it seemed to run the same Skylake processor as its cheaper 14-inch brother. However, Razer have addressed this issue with the Razer Blade Pro RZ09-01663E53-R3U1, which now features a much faster Kaby Lake processor. It still retains its NVIDIA GTX 1080 laptop edition graphics card and we can’t really expect an SLI version as this laptop is just too thin to cram a second GTX 1080. Needless to say you will easily be able to play any game currently on the market on ultra-settings and with a 4K resolution. This card runs circles around its predecessor and will allow you to play future AAA gaming titles for some time to come. The Razer Blade Pro RZ09-01663E53-R3U1 has been updated and now features an overclockable Kaby Lake-based Intel Core i7-7820HK processor. This will allow you to push the processor from its 2.9GHz base clock speed to an impressive 4.3GHz overclocked speed. It still includes a massive amount of DDR4 RAM – 32GB to be precise, however, Razer have now gone for a 2667MHz RAM which should increase performance slightly for gaming and rendering multimedia files. You get a total of 1TB of storage space, which is organized in RAID 0 with two superfast 512GB M.2 solid state drives. You can upgrade to a massive 2TB of storage yourself at home with two 1TB M.2 SSDs, however this is not necessary as it isn’t cheap. The Razer Blade Pro RZ09-01663E53-R3U1 is the world’s first THX certified mobile device, and this will mean an immersive visual and audio experience unlike any other laptop. The 4K Ultra-HD display offers rich and vibrant colors and with 100% AdobeRGB color gamut coverage, the Razer Blade Pro RZ09-01663E53-R3U1 is also great for designers. It also features NVIDIA’s G-SYNC technology, which synchronizes the display’s frame rates with that of the graphics card for a superior gaming experience. Razer have also created the thinnest mechanical keyboard known to the world of laptop gaming. Not only do you get a thin mechanical keyboard, you also get Razer’s Chroma mood lighting technology. This individually backlit keyboard allows you to choose from 16.8 million colors and allows you to set various zones and lighting effects. Following in its predecessor’s footsteps, the Razer Blade Pro’s trackpad is on the right of the keyboard and can easily be customized and even features a scroll wheel.
Pros
- Thin and light
- Powerful NVIDIA GTX 1080 GPU
- Mechanical keyboard
- 2x 512GB M.2 SSDs
- 4K touchscreen display
- 100% AdobeRGB color gamut
- THX certified mobile device
Cons
- Huge price tag
- Only three USB ports
- No DisplayPort or optical drive
- Only one USB 3.1 Type-C port
Specs
- Intel Core i7-7820HK 2.9GHz [View Benchmarks]
- Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X [View Framerates]

Summary & Score
The Razer Blade Pro RZ09-01663E53-R3U1 is an ultra-powerful gaming laptop for the hardcore gamer on the go. However, its huge price tag puts it out of reach for many gamers and its battery life is rather poor for gaming on the go.

Razer Blade RZ09-01953E71-R3U1 14-inch
Razer have been creating top of the range gaming peripherals for a number of years now, and their range of gaming laptops share the company’s gaming pedigree. The new Razer Blade RZ09-01953E71-R3U1 has been updated and now sports a more powerful Kaby Lake processor which will allow you to run any current game on the market. The Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor boasts a performance increase of 9% over the last generation i7-6700HQ which will come in handy while working in more intensive applications. You also get 16GB of DDR4 2133MHz RAM which will allow you to easily run most applications and is more than enough memory for any current gaming title. You can look at upgrading to a higher frequency RAM kit, however this is not necessary for most users who will do just fine with the installed RAM modules. Keeping to its gaming pedigree, the Razer Blade RZ09-01953E71-R3U1 features the NVIDIA GTX 1060 laptop edition GPU with 6GB of dedicated GDDR5 video memory. This graphics card will easily run the latest gaming titles on ultra or high settings while still offering you decent frame rates. Titles such as Battlefield 1, GTA V and Titanfall 2 will run great on this machine, however the smaller M.2 SSD will mean that you will have to be selective about what games you can install on this laptop. With just 256GB of storage space, this superfast SSD will fill up almost instantly with games that are 50GB or larger. You can purchase a larger M.2 SSD for a fraction of the price of the larger models from Razer, however make sure that you have the know how before you undertake this upgrade yourself. While the Razer Blade is a small and compact gaming laptop it does come with a bit of a drawback, the thinner size means that it will heat up quicker while gaming or while using slightly more intensive applications. This in turn will kick the two fans into gear which might annoy some users who are looking for a quieter setup. Another drawback of the smaller form factor is the fact that the 14-inch display is not great for gaming, we recommend connecting the Razer Blade RZ09-01953E71-R3U1 to a monitor for a superior gaming experience.
Pros
- Kaby Lake i7 processor
- Thin and light
- CNC milled aluminum
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
- USB Type-C
Cons
- Heats up under load
- Smaller SSD
- Fans run most of the time
- No Ethernet or optical drive
- Expensive
